PSOBB: Fail and loathing in West Tower

After my hitless multimode East Tower run with FOnewearl ages ago I always fancied one in West Tower, which is much harder due to a few unavoidable Delbiters. So I gave it a try on my FOmarl and things looked pretty well save for a bit of bad luck with Demons activations here and there ... I even managed the first four Delbiters in 8F, but then it went downhill.

What follows is my "professional" analysis/commentary/excuse on the unfortunate turn of events that lead to failure, starting at roughly 8:45

One annoying random factor in Tower runs is the Delbiter's eye laser which is impossible to predict and darkness in the room doesn't exactly help. I gambled, with dire consequences. Well, my biggest mistake, small as it may look, was to run up (past the chainsaw) to the Meseta to get it out of the way, thus triggering that Delbiter in first place. I don't even know what made me cast Shifta after the laser hit me, guess I freaked out a bit because I saw my flawless run going down the shitter, so to speak :/

After that pointless Shifta, I thought the Ill Gill would get close and tried a Rabarta, but got floored by another laser from that flea-ridden puppy on steroids. Now the Ill Gill came down indeed, I spammed Rabarta sadly to no avail, so I decided to just (stun-)gun him down. And here is when PSO's target lock-on feature really fucked me over.

Unexpectedly, my gun locked onto the far away Delbiter instead of the nearby Ill Gill who took that as an invitation to lay the dreaded black mist on me. Some more frantic castings of Rabarta without success, and I pushed my analog stick right in the direction of that Ill Gill in front of me and pulled the trigger, but the game was having none of it. No, it stubbornly kept me locked on the Delbiter. Cancelled the combo, another try, same result. The Ill Gill was not impressed and decided to put me out of my misery. The end.
