Conservatives can froth at the mouth all they want about libtards, etc., but please recognize 2 facts.
Every one of our industrial peer covers basic health needs for ALL their population.
Every industrial peer pays less for health care per person than the USA, which leaves 46+ milllion Americans without care, AND causing over 700,000 medical cost bankruptcies every year.... EVERY YEAR.
Constituion, smonstitution. That can be changed. What about human rights? We are the only civilzed country in the world that doesn't provide health care and yet ours is the most expensive system in the civilized world. Instead of opening your mouth and showing your ignorance, get some accurate information. You might start by reading T. R. Reid's book, Health Care in America. You can read, can't you?
I noticed that your comment had a thumbs down. I did you a favor and gave it a thumbs up. It's sad that there are people out there that want to rely solely on the government to take care of their own wants and needs, excepting doing what our grandfather's and great-grandfather's did and worked for a living.
Healthcare is a man-made concept so it is not a "Natural"' Right. Healthcare is nowhere in the constitution so it is not a "constitutional" right. Food would be an example of a natural right, so why don't Libtards want Socialized food? Hey Libtards, stop harming AMerica and go back to your mother's basement.
It isn't immoral if you have no alternative. The fact that there isn't an alternative illustrates just why those programs are so detrimental. We have created a society of dependents on low-quality government promises. The elderly today ought to continue receiving their benefits, for the rest of us we need to scrap the old system and move on to one that protects liberty.
Let's hear about it when you go broke trying to stay alive and then we'll hear you sing a new tune. You've obviously never had a problem with insurance and medical care yet. You will,
this system is a mess, you will go broke eventually. good luck.
One of my customers is 95 years old and it costs him 65,000 a year to have someone look after him. That is criminal. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this type of problem, or just engage in insults? Because one gets old means he should have to go broke? We dishonor the elderly and poor in this country with the current system. And the care we give to our troops is despicable. Great, let's leave it like it is. that's your solution, thanks.
npwagner007, I agree, individuals must be responsible for their own needs, and we have no guarantees, except for welfare, unemployment, Medicare, corporate welfare, etc.. I hope you will follow your morals and not accept Social Security when you retire, since you get all your own contributions back within the first few years, and don't enroll in medicare, either (of course!)
Cortese is articulate, but is wrong about Mass. healthcare plans being good, in that most people have coverage. To get INDIVIDUAL coverage as good as what a group plan charges about $450/mo for costs about $750 per month thru Commonwealth Connector. This is hardly a good value for the money. Thru Comm. Connector, for $450/mo you get a plan that costs $5000 out of pocket before it covers 80% of med costs.

What a terrible indictment of corporate greed.
