#14 Mercer's caddis nymph fished on a two fly rig using 5x tippet. We used an 8 foot 4x leader to a foot long peice of 5x tippet. Where the leader and first peice of tippet join we use a blood knot. At this point we crimp two split shot. At the end of the first peice of tipper we tie a Mercer's caddis nymph using a clinch knot. From there, another foot long peice of 5x tippet tied off the hook bend of the first hook with a clunch knot. At the end of that, the second Mercer caddis nymph.
