Great video. I stutter too and I chose computer programming for a career because I thought I could sit in a basement all day and not talk to anyone. Wrong. I'm actually a trainer now! I'm a lot like you, I am not the standard for stuttering and my disorder was always classified as mild to moderate. Although you can never overcome stuttering, you can learn to cope with it. I still struggle with that every day. Chin up, there are many who are rooting for you! Ignore the Internet trolls :)

Hey, a lot of people know what stuttering sounds like and know you aren't stupid when they hear it. :) I hope things have gotten better since you posted this.

good video. I really connected with everything you had to say. I too have a speech impediment that is really frustrating when people think u are just stupid. I am also looking for a job in journalism after completing my degree this year. When I was younger and stutter free acting was my dream but I guess it does make us who we are. My only question is how did you manage to get a job in the media?? although it might be a lot easier in the usa than england!

@yertiit You obviously no nothing about stuttering.

You could try speaking up. That would be YOUR challenge that YOU have to overcome.
Having watched all the comments that have come up in the last two years since I posted this video, I think it is VERY interesting that a large majority of people expect me to capture my full speech ability in six minutes. Now, I realize (and I have said this on many of my other videos) I am in no way the standard for what stuttering is. I know that. I am only speaking from what I know and I have experienced. Never thought my random vlog would get so many people watching/pissed.

stuttering is a form of OCD taken to an involuntary level. It was learned. It can be unlearned. jj solari
