This a baby who was burned when a burning curtain landed on her face at 2 days old. We took care of in Afghanistan. Initally abandoned by her parents, she found love, care and compassion among her many "adoptive" US military family. Her family soon came around as well. In the US military hospital, she blossomed under advance medical technology that never would have been provided under Taliban rule. Last I heard, she is doing well and is seen in the US periodically for further treatment. Sometimes out of what people think is all bad, good things do happen.

  • could you share the new video of her ? She must be about 6 years old now...Is she ok ? How is her looking today? Thank you...

  • I dont have another video of her but I did see recent pictures of her. She is okay. She is still being seen at the now UN hospital and getting further surgeries. She now has teeth!

  • Operation for this baby?

  • An Army plastic surgeon came for his tour scheduled to do his tour. He did some repairs to her lids so she could be able to close her eyes. she could see just fine all along but needed that.

However, i have not been able to find her since I left the country. I've heard stories that she gets treatment somewhere in the US and is in & out of hospital in Afghanistan. iIve tried following up but no luck. The song to the video was "god's own creation" it fit, but utube removed it.

  • This is a video about a burned baby in Afghanistan that recieved medical care from American to show that we are doing some good over there. She was not burned by because 80% of the country has no electricity resulting in a burning scarf from a kerosene lamp that was too close to her. The fact that your aunt was there proves as part of an NGO proves the original claim that she never would have recieved care under Taliban rule and since Afghanistan has no infrastructure. Go ask your aunt.

  • Really? I am glad she is okay!!

  • The only time when there was direct air drops of medical supplies in Taliban controlled areas of the country was JUST PRIOR to the U.S. Invasion. Prior to that it was mainly aid and supplies to support Warlord groups of the Northern Alliance who the U.S. had secretly allied with, this rarely went to civilians but Militia groups. The only thing Taliban restricted was male doctors, that's why my aunt went. So your claim is false , based on the explanation of NGO's in Afghanistan at that time.

  • @adsturm My Aunt ran an NGO in Afghanistan between 1992- 2001, they would traditionally have to purchase medical supplies and they would be deposited at Kandahar airplane by a cargo plane. When economic sanctions occurred this stopped and medical supplies decreased by 75-80% this forced her to have to purchase from Pakistani hospitals which also had deficits. The Med and Food that the U.N. would air drop went to areas controlled by Ahmad Shah Massoud. So your claim is misrepresentation
