"All the Things You Are" was composed by Jerome Kern (1908-1989), with lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II (1895-1960) for the 1939 musical "Very Warm for May," where it was introduced by Hiram Sherman, Frances Mercer, Hollace Shaw, and Ralph Stuart. It was later featured in the film Broadway Rhythm (1944), and was performed during the opening credits and as a recurring theme for the romantic comedy A Letter for Evie (1945). The song ranked in the top five of the Record Buying Guide of Billboard, a pre-retail listing which surveyed primarily the jukebox industry. Recordings by Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, and Frankie Masters propelled the song during its initial popularity.

what ever happend to them?

@planthi80 If I recall correctly, sales of their LPs -- which had peaked by the end of the orchestra's first ten years (1957-67) -- started sharply declining around the mid-1970s, with their last LP (a tribute to John Lennon) cut in 1980 or 81. I guess what followed was the result of business decisions; possibly the advent of CDs around that same time expedited 101's demise. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. thanks.
