Kinetic Grand Championship, May 28th, 2011

The beginning of the Kinetic Grand Champtionship, formerly known as the Kinetic Sculpture Race. These bikes race for days and miles through Humboldt County, CA, and have to race over land, sand, and in the cold waters of Humboldt Bay. It's an annual event, and a true Humboldt tradition. This is just the start of the race, where the competitors do a few laps around the Arcata Plaza before they begin the actual race.
