  • You can start teaching your pup right away. Using psoitive reinforcement you can start training at a very early age. I have some puppy training videos that you can watch. Type eletendre1 into the search bar and you can view all the dog training videos.

Good luck with your new puppy.

  • hmm im trying this with my maltese and morkie and its not working so good....there small dogs

  • Here's a couple of suggesstions. Small dogs can be fussier about working for treats, so make sure you have a treat that really, really motivates them. Try cheese, liver treats, hot dogs, chicken pieces, whatever they go crazy for.

Next, try putting them up on a table when you are working with them. They will be closer to you and it will be much easier for you to use your body language and hand signals in a way they can easily understand then when you have to bend way down to reach them.

  • you didn't show stand =[

thats what i want to teach my dog

  • Sorry about that. To use the hand signal for stand, just move your hand and arm back past your thigh with your palm facing your dog.

  • @eletendre1 That make sense ! I'll try that tom morning with my 3month old parson russell

  • @DogsAreMyBestFriends

Because my old dog is deaf! She knows hand signals so everything is fine.

  • wll my puppy is crazy so what do i do???!!

  • Okay, so I tried using hand signals with my dog using a food lure. The only problem I have with that, is he only tucks his head down, not lie down. Should I get him to sit before I signal him to go down?

  • lol im just wondering wad if the dog is out of its patient and bite my hand

  • Hand signals are easier, my dog only really reponds to vocal commands if you use hand signals too,but he can do hand signals alone. It's easier for dogs with physical activity.

  • Thanks for describing the hand signals! Time for training!

  • But why do we need hand signals when we already use command?

  • my cocker spaniel just bites my hand when i try to teach him down anysuggestions
