AggieTV was fortunate enough to film footage from the inside of Mrak Hall before the doors closed during the 32% fee increase protest.
From 4pm-9:47pm, when a total of 52 students were arrested [confirmed by Public Information Officer] thus ending the protest (FOR NOW!), students remained non-aggressive and peaceful.
This video reveals what actually happened while inside Mrak as well as giving voice to students.
The fight on fee increases continues Friday, November 20th on the Quad at 11am in addition to a discussion with university personal from 12-2pm in ARC Ballroom B.

*UPDATE!!!* UC Davis Student Protest Goes National!!
AggieTV Footage of the event aired live on CNN Headline News at 2PM on Saturday, November 21, 2009. If you were at the protest, your face might have been on national TV!
This video was also posted on Fox40 and CNN's headline news page: http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/11/21/california.student.protest/index.html
these guys feel like heroes doing this, they are only doing this because it gives them a group feeling foremost.
they are allured by the feeling of accomplishing something, they feel like martyrs.
In 10 years from now they would know why the fee should be higher. And feel ashamed for their choices.

COME ON MAN,,,,!! What a weak attempt at a protest. I didn't see one joint being smoked. There were multiple opportunities for those chicks to flash their tits ...BUT NOOOO! The police dog was the only one to show intensity. The next thing I expected to see was the students to lock arms with the cops and sing Cum Bai Ya. This entire UC Davis episode has been an insult to anarchists world wide. You UC Davis students simply do not have what it takes to get your message heard.

The Good Americans keep backing the Merchants of Greed as our country is sucked dry by the Oligarch. Go OWS!! The negative people here are clueless drones who would doom themselves and their children to watch Daddy Big Bucks and his theives.

The best way to protest this fee hike is to spend your money at a different school. Once the student number decreases and so does the money the board will change and stay competitive. It is interesting to see so many people want to change a free market system like the one in this country and yet still want all the perks of it. If you don't like the fees at that school go to one the other number of universities in the area.

@brod10311 Way to miss the point completely. Sure, our standard of living is much better compared to the rest of the world, but that does not mean we shouldn't complain and raise our voices about the current UC situation and its exploitation of students. If you were paying for an UC education on your own, you'd know that an 81% fee hike might as well be a kick out the door because many students won't be able to "just deal with it".

too many student party and not focus on important studies that make a difference. Protesting really won't do much when the economy stays like this.
