Kate, I will die for you...

WOW!!! I'm speechless! I heard her interviewed on BBC Radio 2 recently and her early demos were discussed and that they were rejected by so many people until she found a Champion who jumped at recording her!

There´s a video somewhere online that combines this song with Roger Vadim´s beautiful horror classic "Blood and Roses", which was based on "Carmilla" . The music and the images just blend so perfectly, I wonder if she was inspired by Vadim´s film when she wrote it.

she made an unusual personal appearance at an autograph session at a New York City record store resulting in a queue of nearly six blocks
-
In 2005 she released Aerial, her first album in 12 years. The album earned her a BRIT Award nomination for Best Album and another for Best Solo Female Artist. During the course of her career, she has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards.

Definitely an all time favorite, along with "Organic Acid". By the way, early work can be found on a very well-done website. Simply do a Google search on "Kate Bush in MP3". Enjoy.
its a shame some of these demos werent recorded as proper songs

Yes the song is based on J.S Le Fanu's Carmilla about a vampire who befriends young women and stays with their families to feed upon them. Vampire Lover's (look up the clip) is based on this as well. Listen to the lyrics, "tying garlic flowers around the room, it keeps me safe" "surrender into the roses, go back home under the posies" (in other words go to rest and rot under the ground, stop rising).
