An instructive game.. Thanks also KC for including the game score it makes it much easier for us YouTubers to analyse the game after playing the video.

Why not a Rxb7 at some point with c4-c5-c6 and so on..? I found 33. Ra1 such an awkward looking move lol
-
@kingscrusher you just said your not suited to c4 then you play a possitionl crush ahahah interesting,
-
the caution and concern at the end is a good habit, but one look at the position after Rxb2 and it's clear that black has no chance at all.

Nice play and interesting h-file bluff. Instructive the way you traded advantages towards the end to gain a winning passed pawn.
As for the h-file bluff, during the game I thought that Kg2 is objectively better. The idea being that on Ra6 then Bd8 and the bishop is pinned. Because the king is on Kg2, the h rook has no checks. If I remember right he doesn't really any useful moves left after this, and then you could maybe start trying to pick up his a pawn.

At the beginning you talk about your playing style. I wonder: what is your playing style exactly? It appears to be very diverse. Sometimes it's all about binds and blockades and mysterious rook moves, Then all of a sudden the h-pawn rushes up the board in one of your patended hack attacks. Would be very interesting with an introspective video about these things. And, oh, very nice game of course!

I really dislike the Philidor. It was an oppening that we were taught was very bad but in practice there are some dangerous gambits in the Philidor. I'm so prejudiced against the opening I feel like a monkey when I lose to it.

Philidor defence?
i think it is some kind of pirc defence, isn´t it?
great game kc. awesome job of counterplay removal. dare i say karpovian?

@gmch713 Well it's interesting you say that - sometimes Karpov also deliberately "sucked pieces" into his position - so kind of orchestrating the opponents "counterplay" to be able to get to their King in some games - there is a nice game on Youtube showing such a method. So not always "counterplay removal" but sometimes "counterplay orchestration" :)

actually you had Rxb7 at any time in the game beacuse if Bxc5+ you can take it with check Bxc5+

@shinyninetales999 It does but it creates some "looseness" in principle - a "loose" rook. But yeah Rxb7 does win a pawn and is probably therefore worth it. I think it is safer to keep all pieces protected in general while pursuing a clear plan - to avoid any tactical slips. I liked keeping the rook protected on d7, so not having to be concerned about it.
