@mmunera You can use it in saltwater as long as you remember to rinse it in freshwater at home, like in the sink or bathtub or shower. Just turn the motor on and run it under the faucet for a few minutes, thoroughly rinsing the salt out.

I've got the Daiwa 36lb thrust trolling motor but it looks identical to your Minnkota. I use it alot and I'm very happy with it. The submurged motor makes it silent running and it works well with just an ordinary car battery. The only thing I've done to it is shortened the shaft as it was about a foot too long for my boat.

hey bro when u put these type of motors on an inflatable boat do you need to register these things like a car??

@sireatalot247 hmm you would have to check your local regulations. I would go to your state's DNR (department of natural resources) website and they should have a section on legal watercraft and motor regulations.

@mmunera yes but it would probably affect the warranty and the length of the life of the motor. minnkota has saltwater motors though.
