We are raising funds to bring this movie to the great Native American tribes in North and South Dakota early next year.

Check out http://kck.st/exEX3r and pledge as little as $5 or as much as $5000.

We have been very fortunate and with very limited funds created this truly important documentary about these events. We shot on original locations, starting in Switzerland, where Karl Bodmer was born, or in Leipzip Germany and we traveled up North through the United States. We spent time with real Native Indians, like Chief Leonard Crow Dog, his son.... or the medicine man Howard Bad Hand from the Brule Sioux Tribe. We followed the tribes of Sioux, Lakota, Mandan's and many more and soon learned how important the journey of Karl Bodmer really was.

The movie was acclaimed at many festivals and we won many awards, yet we cannot repay the respect we want to repay to our Native Indian friends. Producing a documentary feature is never about the money but we truly like to "repay" something to our Indian friends. It is not a very common thing that real Native Indians "act" in a documentary movie. They have let us into their lives, their life styles and their believes.

How can we "pay" back to these great tribes of America? We want to show them this movie, we want to release the movie in theaters near them or right in their reservations, or their schools. Our idea has found great interest, but it takes money to rent movie equipment, to invite the folks to our special showing, which is just for them. First we will present the movie inside the Lewis & Clark Interpretation Center in Washburn North Dakota, then we will visit the Rosebud Reservation in North Dakota, followed by the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. A special day for these Tribes and showing of Bodmers Journey will be held at the Lakota Waldorf School and the Fort Mandan. The film maker team will attend these special events and we believe that this is the right sign to send to our Native friends.
