In November 2011, the tall ship Lady Washington visited Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay, California, a few miles south of my hometown in Pacifica. During her visit I took a few pictures and videos before her adventure ride on Sunday Nov. 6th.
The Lady is a replica of the origional Lady Washington which was the first american vessel to make landfall on the Pacific Northwest coast in the late 18th Century. She is best known for her role as the H.M.S. Interceptor in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (hence the music).
Today, Lady Washington makes birth at Gray's Harbor Historic Seaport in Washington along with the Hawaiian Chieftain and occasionally travels up and down the westcoast giving rides and tours to the public.
