Janet! I had such a crush on her when I was a youngster!
-
LOVED Tom. He really didn't like when they added 'Miss Rona.' I don't think he felt too comfy with the audience - preferred just a little polari with the crew.

@eieiowens No VCR's in the George Fennell era. Never missed Chuck Chan.

jake1004, don't be calling this garbage "five all night" it is NOT!
"Five All Night Lives" was Yuppy stoner garbage!
The REAL 'Five All Night" featured movies and shows hosted by George Fennell!
Don't be speaking of it as if it's the same!
""Five All Night, Live All Night" was crap!!!! I'm glad it bombed!

Hey eieiowens..I'm the guy youre referring to: George Fennell...I was the host of Five All Night in the 70"s ...we played Charlie Chan movies..etc...Nice you remembered me.I live in Mass...Best wishes !! George F..

It is not ****ing 'Five All Night' it's 'Five All Night Live' the idiocy that replaced it!
'Five All Night' was a show with cool monster movies, Boston Blackie episodes and the like! WVCB ****ed up and through that off the air for this hipster crap!
-
Yes, I was thinking the same thing.....wow, this alone is the greatest time capsule of that sad day.
-
This is NOT "Five All Night" but it's lame replacement that then tanked!

"Five All Night-Live" was a lame show.
WCVB canceled the original show "Five All Night" which was hosted by a guy named George Fennel, who was rarely seen, and when he was, it was in shadows.
They would have old Universal horror movies, Boston Blackie shows from the 1950s, and Fennel would be our host. He would show spippets of other films, photographs of Boston at night, and play portions of songs!
They replaced it with this garbage!

The Five All Night Clip is hosted by Matt Seigel of Kiss 108 and WBCN. GREAT JOB Vintage Television. Hope you might have more Five All Night Late at Night stuff. Any with George Fennel?

This clip is all that I've found of the program.

Tom mentioned December 8th, wasn't that the night John Lennon Died since the "Tomorrow" clip was from 1980?
And with that, shall I assume that "Tomorrow" was a pre-taped program?

Yes, it was videotaped in the late afternoon, as I recall.
