An overwhelming show of support for four slain Lakewood police officers was on display Tuesday morning as thousands of police, fire and other vehicles participated in 10-mile long memorial procession as people lined the streets to pay their respects.

BTW, I have never been arrested. I have received tickets but never argued with a cop. I tell everyone who will listen not to argue with a cop in the street. Instead, let your lawyer argue with the cop in front of a judge. The judge can tell a cop to shut up and make him do it. You can't. Fighting a cop with your fists is for idiots. Fighting a cop with your lawyer's brains in front of a judge is virtual child abuse.

Probably not SA. I mentioned SA to demonstrate how private citizens can protect themselves without the government. Sure, private security can turn bad but so do cops. The advantage of private security is they have to please their customers. Government cops do not. Bad security guards can be fired at will; bad cops are notoriously difficult to fire. Best of all, security guards do not demand tasteless funerals!

@Skeptic121 OK, the ticket is yours provided it is one way and you promise not to come back. Sounds like you got a ticket for something and it just railed you bad, I do not know and really do not care. There is good and bad everywhere, all dogs bite, all horses kick. My guess is that you will be sadly disappointed in SA when you find out there are no Miranda warnings and no free attorneys. Oh yeah, their rules of engagement are much looser than ours. @JudischerWolfsmench I certainly am looking to expatriate. I am 57 and ready for something new. Let me make my middle sentence clear. Most cops spend most of their time on citations for minor infractions in order to raise revenue. YouTube and the news sites are full of stories about cops beating old ladies and mentally handicapped men who showed them "disrespect". More cops means more need for revenue, more citations for petty offenses, and more chances for beating up cranky old ladies.

@Skeptic121 Well, South Africa is taking immigrants and I offer you a one way ticket there. I did, in all fairness, talk to a really good friend of mine there and he said the private security people will turn on you in a heart beat. You have a right to your opinion and I respect that, I would respect it a lot more if you voted with your feet. The offer is there, one ticket to South Africa. You keep your cops and let me save my tax money. I will make my own arrangements for protection against criminals. Enough cops to rescue us from home invaders in three minutes is enough cops to beat old deaf ladies and shoot mentally handicapped men for not grovelling quickly enough. South Africa has tougher criminals but private (mostly black African) security does a great job; they CARE about pleasing their customers; most cops don't.
