The two Collings electric guitars used here in order of apperance are 290 then the 360. I'm playing both guitars through a Headstrong Lil King amp with 1X12, then into a Fulldrive 2 pedal for distorted tones. Both guitars have Curt Mangan red label 10-46 strings. Specs of each of these guitars can be found on the Collings web site. I would love to hear from you - thanks for watching!

  • Wow, great demo! Thank you for posting. The feel of the guitars is quite similar in hand and this video really helps me hear the difference clearly. I have to say it's the 290 for me. Been thinking about a Collings electric for some time now. Maybe today is NGD (new guitar day)....

  • i'd love to hear if you add one to your collection....the 290 is a killer guitar! Thanks for your kind post and all the best with your music,

    dale

  • Great Demo!

Do you happen to know what the headstock pitch angle is on these babies? Keep the great vids coming.

  • hello, thanks so much for checking this out....i'm sorry i have no idea about headstock angles. All the best,

    dale

  • wow the 360 has a much brighter tone. i guess if you like jazz, go with the 290. they both look great though.

  • i agree - first mini-hum i've owned and it does growl and have a brighter tone that typical HB - thanks for sharing your impressions and watching!

    all the best,

  • @tonedr

I sure did (it's Orange!) and have not put it down in 2 days. Just might get some sleep tonight....

Thanks again for the virtual help!

  • @foolintherain100 This particular 360 has the Maple top which does give it a little brighter tone than what one might expect from minis. The 360 is also available in a solid Mahogany body and that sounds WAY different than this Maple top version. To my ears, the all mahogany version is much warmer overall better for the Blues style I play.

  • congrats on the guitar!! They are killers - appreciate you watching the video. All the best,

    dale

  • Fine playing and nice sound. You inspired me to buy me Collings 290. And I love the sound of the guitar. Thank you for posting.
