It feels like they had a bigger plan with this anomaly. Like a bigger chapter to this thing, but had to cut it short for some reason.

@Gamebanger1 Yep, I had similar thoughts. I think you only see it maybe once or twice through the whole game. May have something to do with the dark ones. I really ought to read the book, I bet they explain it in detail.

@zkhan42 I think it was minor foreshadowing, or showing a relation with the game Stalker, they do make some hints about Stalker like when at the Library one of the books is what Stalker is based off. Maybe the Anomalies will have a bigger role in the next Metro.
