Age 10. This was for a Competition. He won and performed all 3 movemets with orchestra. This concerto is not that difficult, but if you pay attention to every small detail, I promise you will go far! Visit http://www.youtube.com/user/MrBrendonViolin to see more videos of Brendon.
This young man plays extremely well but I do agree that it is way too fast and not consistent - the soloist and the accompaniment is not always together; sometimes it sounds like a race. Nonetheless, this is excellent work, keep it up!

The recordings we have studied are comparable to this tempo, for example Hilary Hahn plays it at a similiar tempo and in 3min 20 secs. True that the piano and violin were not always in sync, but that was not necessarily the solist's fault

You play the violin well, but this perfomance is way too fast. I have heard many performances of the song, including from the greats and even they didn't try to play that fast. You have a bright future of violin playing ahead of you so keep up the good work.

Thanks for your input. Not sure if I agree that this piece is too fast. But I will say that as a young male child, Brendon does tend to play things a bit on the fast side, just because he can. I think the older he gets, he will learn that it is ok to savor the piece and take his time. Joshua Bell even admitted to playing a piece at 2x the intended tempo as a child, but changed the tempo as a young man. So maybe there's hope for Brendon to develop more control in that area as well.
