Age 10. This was for a Competition. He won and performed all 3 movemets with orchestra. This concerto is not that difficult, but if you pay attention to every small detail, I promise you will go far! Visit http://www.youtube.com/user/MrBrendonViolin to see more videos of Brendon.

  • This young man plays extremely well but I do agree that it is way too fast and not consistent - the soloist and the accompaniment is not always together; sometimes it sounds like a race. Nonetheless, this is excellent work, keep it up!

  • The recordings we have studied are comparable to this tempo, for example Hilary Hahn plays it at a similiar tempo and in 3min 20 secs. True that the piano and violin were not always in sync, but that was not necessarily the solist's fault

  • You play the violin well, but this perfomance is way too fast. I have heard many performances of the song, including from the greats and even they didn't try to play that fast. You have a bright future of violin playing ahead of you so keep up the good work.

  • Thanks for your input. Not sure if I agree that this piece is too fast. But I will say that as a young male child, Brendon does tend to play things a bit on the fast side, just because he can. I think the older he gets, he will learn that it is ok to savor the piece and take his time. Joshua Bell even admitted to playing a piece at 2x the intended tempo as a child, but changed the tempo as a young man. So maybe there's hope for Brendon to develop more control in that area as well.
