Not the only reason SotS sucked. Far too simple, with absolutely no planetary management. While this helped the late game on big maps, overall it makes the game boring as you're just slamming the end turn button doing hardly anything. Battles are decent but have there own share of problems, and can't make up for the poor camera and horrible starmap. Besideds, if you want space battles you could play Homeworld or something.

Sword of the Stars sucked MAJOR ASS. I had all the expansions installed and playing with easy difficulty the enemy ( especially the wasp-like things) created cruisers and battlecruisers and raped my ass. Sins of a solar empire though is still a good game.

Distant Worlds is another game worth checking out if you like space strategy. It's a 2D, pausable real-time game but hugely immersive and massive in scale (I'm talking 1400 systems with 10 or so planets in each).

AI suck, played on the hardest and even my cat could beat this AI. You can also get such a huge economy that you wont have to care about economy theres no way you can spend all the money.
After I had around 500 planets, boring colonization without any fights larger then "10 scout ships or so" game crashed, even after reloading it just crashed. So thats how this game ended, with a crash.
Improve the AI, make it more balanced, and dont make the game crash and you could sell this product.

Does it work with windows 7 ultimate because when i try and start it up its fine but when i clikc play it goes to a black screen? Any help?
