Conservatives have a terrible habit of seeing things either in black or white terms. The socialist part of the Nazi's policies were in some cases beneficial to the German people. It was the nationalistic policies that saw Jews and gypsies and everyone else that couldn't prove that they were (pure Germans) as evil. Calling someone a Nazi just for reactionary reasons is a sign of stupidity. The Canadian government has adopted many more socialist programs than the US and nobody calls them nazis.
