when in video mode with this camera can you select a manual mode for aperture, iso.... or its only automatic?

@goudacheese33536 switch the settings on the lens itself from A over to M for manual. It then releases the ring at the end of the camera for focusing

@goudacheese33536 On the lower left side of the lens (with the camera facing the subject) you can see a switch with A - M settings (sometimes A/M - M). Since the D5000 cannot focus during video, you need to switch it to one with M, which is Manual. This allows you to grab the lens focus ring (one with ribs and not the ribs for zooming) and adjust the focus yourself. This is the only way to refocus the video on D5000.
