Yes. Except of course Stephen King published his story You know they got a hell of a band in 1992 and Black Carrion was first shown in 1984. Perhaps Stephen saw it when he lived in the UK for a short time.

For a deserted village it looks remarkably clean and well kept. They must have self cleaning buildings and cars. Wish our cars were as clean as those ones in the film including the old white MK2 in the quarry.

I like that it's been acknowledged by the guy that she must have some connection to whatever's going on; the script isn't talking down to the viewers. And the idea was introduced that she's probably a virgin; I bet that's a factor later on.
