It is true! I was nuked today by Wendy and Kenny Reed from http://BeeWilde.com. Nuc is short for nucleus. This is the best way to start a new bee hive. I started two today. A nuke has a queen bee who has been laying eggs for two months and has already established a hive of about 5,000 bees. The reason I bought my honey bee nuc from Kenny and Wendy Reed in Montgomery TX is because I know that the queen is healthy and working hard. With a bee package you don't know if you have a good honey bee queen because she has not laid any eggs or even worked with the bees in the package. If you are going to start beekeeping, and a new hive, find your local beekeepers association. They are a wealth of information. My local Montgomery County Texas Beekeepers Association is awesome!

  • I wish I knew what they were doing but still great video!

  • @econewpower Sweet! I look forward to seeing it.

  • @LDSPrepper Yes, I'll shoot a video of my beehive this weekend and post it with the location I picked and how I have it configured. I opted for a nectar jar in the front and will have a small opening for the first few weeks so they have a smaller entrance to defend until the colony numbers rise sufficiently to defend a larger entrance to the hive.

  • @econewpower I look forward to seeing your video. Are you a first time beekeeper like myself?

  • Awesome! I ordered my bees from Rossman Apiaries and they are supposed to be shipped next week so I hope to have them in a couple of weeks. My hive box is ready to go and just waiting for my bees to get home. I'll shoot a video and post it when I get them in the mail. Thanks for the great video.
