Love the song! I don't have a political ax to grind, though, given my political views are middle-right or "moderate conservative" but this is a good history lesson in song of the thoughts going on in people's minds during the Watergate era.

Although Nixon was responsible for his own actions, an argument can easily be made in hindsight about how aggressive the opposition was in seeing to it that Nixon was removed from power either by impeachment or his own resignation.

indeed, he did face a hostile Democratic Congress throughout his two terms, which sought to re-assert its role in the constitutional system after years of presidential abuse in the areas of war, diplomacy, and budget making.

but yeah, it is an interesting reflection of the Watergate-era in culture
