The one and only! Who doesn't love this halyard chantey..?. An extended (semi-improv) version.

Mutton & Calhoun do it for Billy Olden.

[Some of the B-roll footage is from the 1922 silent film "Down to the Sea in Ships." It is used without permission but I believe it is reasonably fair use and unthreatening. Message me if otherwise.]

Also found in:
LA Smith 1888, Sharp 1914, Doerflinger 1951

  • Northumberland, in North East England

  • Love all your videos! Very nice to hear the songs. ;)

  • Thank you, sir!

The video comes from a 1922 film, "Down to the Sea in Ships." The film contains scenes of actual whaling, and sailing on the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan.

  • good work fellows!

From where is the old video?
