Why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger.
Mario S. Fedele
The rest of the explanation:

Try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

  • @Moglis00

    - for the rest of your life.

Maybe love and spirituality go in hand. I know I believe in god, yes, but nothing else.

I think the religions US HUMAN BEINGS practice is what is making this world crazy.

And well, yeah, im very emotional hahaha i got married 4 months ago. Im still feel like a teenager in love

  • @Moglis00 i agree, in my opinion is beyond the party, the dress, the ring.... its the fact that you are willing to compromise to that person for the rest of your life...

But every women has that desire, to have their dream wedding. Doesnt have to be a big ass party.... mine was simple-family party, with the church and the white dress.

I guess you have to experiance it yourself, theres no greater feeling than walking down the isle with your dad, facing at the persone who is gonna be with you

  • @MissNyosdel Marriage is an act. I am not sure whether it existed before Christianity but if you want to know I can make a bit of research on the subject.

I take you are very emotional about this. =)

  • @MissNyosdel well why isn't marriage a religious act? Because as a woman it is your dream to marry your other half?

I think you can love someone and live with him / her for the rest of your lifes without having the need to go to a church. Without a priest giving you his blessings. Without a metal being put in your finger. Without you (the bride) having to wear a very specific dress.

You can just celebrate your love with all the people you love, in a feast or whatever.

  • @Moglis00

I just think is cute. Take a chill pill and enjoy the little things in life.

Marriage is not a religious act. I take you are not married.

  • snif snif. smell religious bullshit! Come on... Really? Are you so surprised that you don't have a muscle to move a finger some pastors/priests/popes decided to make the "Ring finger"? And not only that, you just have to relate it with love and religious stuff (I take marriage as a religious action)! Why don't you wanna see reality? Don't be a sleeping beauty because you love someone. Put more love into your life and you 'll see these things will look stupid to you too after a while.

  • @Kool92cv Thanks for offering that alternate point of view.

  • @taufiq1991 because you can't seperate yourself, can you ?

    =)

  • Yes, it certainly is.

What I also find of great interest is the fascinating theory that is proposed to add such significant value to the exercise.
