@eliten100 giving history to the build up to the match is a great device in engaging people into the emotional part of the game. The stakes for every match are dictated in the emotional, and mental will of the players by past experience against their opponent, like boxers. You may think it's worthless, but the majority of the people obviously enjoy, respect, and like to get involved into more than the superficial things, or the announcers wouldn't have jobs.

@visitnajr It's great when they talk about the game, but not just the, the players history and accomplishments and of course they should comment on the quality of the game and the players. But don't start talking about things that have nothing to do with this tournament, like ancient history and other irrelevant bull
