@jsnell126 Funny you should say that. I love covers of TW songs almost as much as I like TW singing his originals. The AK/RP cover is exactly the same pacing and inflection with a 'prettier' voice. Can't really credit them with doing anything other than providing a venue for people to listen to one of the great song writers without trying to understand the choice of using the voice that he uses. The TW version is all pain and betrayal. Allison sings it in melancholy.

plant/krauss version of this song is far better. but i'm not much of a fan of tom waits' singing.
Tom Waits has an amazing ability to create desolate, rusty landscapes in his music.
