Coup d E'tat against Dr. Guy Theodore, or Irreconcilable Divergence?

New York - Havocs in Haitian politics are so predictable. They are sometimes perpetrated by foreign intervention and manipulation, and as well by Haitians themselves. They come in all shapes and forms. Coup d'état and political turmoil are as Haitian as wayal (translation from Haitian Creole: Cassava and peanut butter.) Dr. Guy Theodore claims that Friends of Dr. Guy Theodore was changed to Friends of Haiti 2010, Inc (FOH) without his authorization, and his lawyer in the U.S., Mr. Robinson has advised him to disassociate himself from FOH, and to form a new campaign committee in New York. On the other hand, the founding members of FOH claim that the name change was to protect the Diaspora from being used by Haitian politicians as an ATM machine. Dr. Guy Theodore, the Haitian presidential candidate, has managed to maintain an unscathed and squeaky clean reputation. Nevertheless, Dr. Guy Theodore's campaign seems to be swimming in the middle of turbulent waves lately. The image a man with astonishing accomplishments, and impressive curriculum vitae, is being challenged. Something remarkably disturbing has emerged to scandal proportion. The New York based organization titled Friend of Haiti 2010, Inc (FOH) has withdrawn its support for Dr. Guy Theodore after Mr. Theodore asked the organization to stop collecting money on behalf of his campaign.

Accusations are flying from both sides. Dr. Guy Theodore accused the people in charge of Friends of Haiti 2010 of using his name to collect money, and his campaign has never seen a penny.

The four founding members of Friends of Haiti 2010, Inc, Dr. Daniel Faustin, Chairman; Magalie Theodore, Vice-Chair (niece of Dr. Guy Theodore;) Patrick Morisseau,Treasurer/ Political Consultant; Edens Desbas, General Secretary, have refuted the accusation and countercharged that Dr. Guy Theodore campaign actually owes them, and to be exact $9,550.81. We reached out to both sides, and each one had something to say...
