A long Canadian National freight train crosses the steel trestle bridge over the Peace River. The five locomotives on the head end throttle up as they round the curve and make a run at the long 2.2% grade up to Taylor. The train is a northbound freight which runs from Chetwynd to Fort St. John 3 to 4 times per week. This line is the former British Columbia Railway Fort St. John Subdivision which is now operated by CN.

  • It surprises me that they only operate 4 trains per week up there. I would have imagined more like 4 per DAY, haha. Well, I guess that's better than nothing. Anyway, how many trains does Dawson Creek typically see in a week (or in a day, if they operate daily)?

  • B39's! Love the sound!

  • I agree about the grade down, I got to spend a few days hauling the spilled lumber from that curve back up the switchback goat trail of a road back to the mill following one of the many derailments there.

  • the grade down to that bridge is wild!
