I had just graduated from middle school, my hormones were snapping off the walls and my face was bursting with acne--I agonized when I saw the cheerleaders. I attended my first dance as a Freshman and touch-danced with the well endowed Junior and Senior girls. It was a time of innocence--the developing girls dared to dance closely. It was a colorful smear of dizziness as we rolled around the gym floor, ballroom style. I remember the girl's warmth matched mine as we danced to this slow piece.

Madam, That was a little over half century ago. Yes, I still pace successfully, slowly, ever so slowly. Other glorious slow pieces were In the Still of the Night by the Five Satins, I Love How You Love Me by the Paris Sisters, Put Your Head on My Shoulder by Paul Anka, Elvis Presley's unforgettable Can't Help Falling In Love among numerous heart wrenching classics. May I have the next dance?
