  • This is a great vidio but if you are looking for a fast and easy way to remove and replace your bathtub drain you must try this amazing tool the EzXtractor. You will have the job done in minutes. old tubs with rusty drains no problem. Broken cross members no problem.

  • Excellent video. I've got my overflow plate installed just how you did it. However, I keep having rust drip down from the overflow and leave a rust line down to the drain. I can't figure out why this is occurring. I considered caulking around the top of the plate to keep water from getting through to the overflow hole in the tub. It seems the metal from the tub is exposed around the overflow hole. Any advice? Thanks.

  • Fantastic video. Best one I've found on Youtube for this drain plate replacement job. Thank you, thank you, Cal. You save me a huge plumber's bill.

  • Great video Cal. Very reasonable and thorough.

  • Good info. I need help though!!

My overflow drain pipe is not tight against the back of my tub. I can move it all around with my fingers through the hole. The only thing that can keep the pipe in place is the face plate, since it screws into the overflow pipe. Looking at the pipe rim through the hole, there is no putty or anything that would make me thing it's water tight. What is the proper way to fix this? Thank you.

  • good infor but i losed the replacement bar, which i need, can i purchase it as single piece , that all i need

  • this was very good infor, but what do i do i drop the overflow bar and need one to put the over plate on, can i buy that replacement pieace

  • So if I fill the tub up to the overflow plate water will drain out to the correct place, not down the back of the tub-rotting out floor?

  • great video

  • Thanks so much, Cal... Moving into a place that needs a lot of sprucing up. It's a rental though, so I can't go crazy with the spending and need to do as much as possible myself. I'd thought this would be a pain, but your video makes it very clear and seem more than doable. --Off to the hardware store. :)
