On March 21st Israeli police prevented Palestinians from holding events in East Jerusalem marking the disputed city's designation as a "capital" of Arab culture. Israel captured East Jerusalem from Jordan in a 1967 war and annexed it as the Jewish state's "eternal and indivisible capital," a move not recognized internationally. Palestinians demand East Jerusalem as their capital. In this video, Palestinian cultural events in one East Jerusalem neighborhood are stopped by police. Intissar El Wazir, the widow of PLO armed forces commander Khalil Wazir (killed by Israel in Tunis in 1988) says in Arabic: Jerusalem is Palestinian and will remain Palestinian". The sports club Al Quds (Jerusalem's Arab name) was shut down by police. But about 30 youngsters kept dancing and singing in the street, shouting slogans like: "Millions of youth will come to Jerusalem".
