Regia Anglorum is a UK based Living History and Re-Enactment society of well over 500 members, that aims to explore the lives and times of the folk who lived in and occupied the British Isles from the Viking Age of Alfred the Great to the Norman Conquest in 1066, and beyond into the 12th century and up to the time of the crusades and Richard the Lionheart.
Regia celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2011, and this video captures some of our best moments, including dramatic performances at the Jorvik Viking festival, live events and scenes created during filming for historical documentaries.
In this video can be seen glimpses of our permanent site and manor house at Wychurst in Kent, one of our several ship replicas, and members of our team of Norman cavalry, the Conroi of Regia Anglorum (www.theconroi.co.uk).
Regia have an impressive media C.V and have been involved in most high profile historical programming of recent years including Simon Schama's History of Britain, David Starkey's Monarchy and more recently 1066-The Battle for Middle Earth by Hardy Productions for Channel 4.
