Nope, he's all grown up now and has went on to officially take his dad's place as the official mascot since his retirement in the early 90's.

my dad knew the original tony the tiger voice actor dude. he has a bunch of memorabilia (like old kelloggs box fronts and stuff) signed by him...its weird.

Yep...on a 1994 TNT documentary about the Grinch, Thurl mentioned not recieving screen credit and how Ted "Dr. Seuss" Geisel, once he found out, not only personally apologized, but also called a bunch of newspaper TV columnists to inform them of that fact.

i was born in 76 too and i missed those days of saturday cartoons from 6 to noon.
