This short video shows there is another way to knit Two-at-a-Time.
This technique can be used for mittens, socks, leg warmers, finger-less mittens, sleeves or anything else that you make two duplicate items. The technique is NOT new, if you have ever knit double-knit mittens, you can do this. The link below shows this technique being done in 1918. How to do this: Cast on with 2 yarns, alternately on the needle. Then you knit the odd stitches and purl the even stitches, making sure you don't get the yarns tangled together. Some people like to purl the odd stitches and knit the even ones, that way the stitches won't tangle. Was just fun doing something different than the norm.

  • i checked but i didn't find the entire video, maybe i missed it, it's hard for me, my english isn't good enough. can you put a direct link to the video, please ? i checked your profile on ravelry and i want to ask you if you are satisfied with the result of this method? are the mittens in different size in your profile are those in this video ? thx

  • @liliumlilium2 This link shows the method cast on with doing socks. I also have a video showing how I do it, called the Invisible/Italian Cast on. The mittens I made from this style on completion were 2 different sizes, the smaller being the inside mitten. I do not like this method as there is too much of a chance that the yarn may be twisted and then the mittens would not separate upon completion.

  • Hello, it's a good method to gain time and not get bored doing the second item, can you do a full tutorial from CO to BO, please.thanks for your work

  • @liliumlilium2 Check the Ravelry discussion link above. There is a link there for the complete tutorial.

  • Very good but am I going crazy? Where does it say how to do it? :)

  • @goldintheair No, you are not crazy, too funny! I just added a note above to help anyone with the technique.Cheers!
