@SolFuegoLluvia Ya not true at this current time, maybe earlier on in American history- now it's just like the WWF, you root for who seems to have the same BELIEF system as you.
If you call that "building a society", maybe so, but its defiantly not "building a healthy, long lasting society".
Anyway, it to overlook all this discussion, and look what the movie has to offer, i would gladly join the Zeitgeist. I am not a blind fanatic, i would change some things about their way, but if to choose out of all the possible outcomes of out near future and its development, i didn't saw anything better suggested.
Is it Democratic? maybe monarchic? I think not. And for another fact, look around you, at the world it is today. You probably don't live so bad. Well look at the Egypt, or the same Africa, or many other countries like this. Most of them have religion, and politics. Is it really telling them how to build a society? Ok there are countries like USA, Denmark, etc, who live in prosperity. But is it really the politics and the religion controlling them, building them? Money, and nothing else.
@SolFuegoLluvia I tend to see a dereference between "building a society" and "running/controlling the society". Even so, I will agree that politics and religion has some things to say, but lets look at the other parts of the movie (and i mean the whole movie) what it has to say to us. First of all, i can not agree in any way that a scientific and logical approach is a political approach, this movie and the movement it self is no way associated with politics.
@nLordConstantine For some examples of political theorists with ideas so to how society should be structured see: John Locke Thomas Hobbes Jean-Jacques Rousseau Plato Aristotle Adam Smith Karl Marx Niccolò Machiavelli Murray Bookchin Mikhail Bakunin John Rawls John Stewart Mill .... The list goes on. When it comes to religion, about half of it seems to be about how society should be run. For a couple of examples, see Shari'ah law, and some of the early books of the Bible's Old Testament.
This video grossly oversimplifies the meaning of politics. Politics doesn't just refer to the party politics of conservatives, socialists and liberals. Rather, it refers to the interactions, power relationships and decision-making processes within and between human collectives. Zeitgeist's mission is inherently political, in that it seeks to reshape the structure of human society, this process informed by a certain framework of beliefs and values.
Yeah.. religion and politics do have alot to say about building a society, unfortunately were currently living the effects of their ideas... It's now time to hear solutions from people other than politicians and priests..

As such, it's claim to being apolitical is either ignorant or dishonest.
