Chas Hathaway: Instant Improvisation on the Sopranino Recorder

This is another instant improvisation, this time not using the three notes, and on the sopranino recorder - which is my favorite of all flutes. As you can tell, I left the mistakes in, like the squeal about 15 seconds into it. When I record for albums, I take that stuff out, but this is just for fun, so you can hear my mess-ups, too.

Also, I don't actually play with my right hand on top (which is, I think, the official way). I had no lessons to correct me when I first started, so I'm doomed for life - though I'm certain it really doesn't matter for most people. But I took this video in Photo Booth, which flips (mirrors) web-cam videos. So it only looks like I'm playing it "right." If you look closely on the video "Crossover," it does the same.


The sound I recorded with a nicer microphone and added a little reverb later.
