Explosion at Fuego Volcano, Guatemala

Explosion of Fuego Volcano, as seen from a very close distance (200 mt). Fuego is one of Guatemala's most consistently active volcanos. This short shows one of its frequent explosions early in the morning.

is that in Antigua? I was there this past summer on a mission trip and when we visited Antigua we saw that volcano begin to erupt. It was much smaller and at night too...

Yep, Fuego is the only active volcano you can see from Antigua. You probably saw one of its "regular" explosions. It seemed small because of the distance.

the 3 minute version is awesome..i get dizzy watching it...to think a few months later it popped !!! videos of august eruption 2007 look as if toxic clouds are coverng where you were...what did you think about when you heard about latest eruption ?

when i saw the clips and pics of the recent eruption, what i wanted to do was to go up again and see how it changed the crater! that's one of the cool things about active volcanoes: they change a lot. every visit, they are different. in case you're in guate, there will be a new excursion like the one i taped. go to hastalacumbre dot com and click on "próxima aventura" and see the details. it'll be on the sept 15-16 weekend

You must have been referring to the differential in Altitude.If you were 200m away you might have not survived to post this video

Oh ya, I climbed this beast. With my Homie Khronic, his guatamalan pitbull snoop, and Carlos Rey . Left Antigua 2 in the morniing strait from the bars. Y este es un vulcan mas malo, mano. Just a small eruption here.
