  • What's the song at the two minute mark, guys?

    Thanks.

  • @4543563 The tape was from the radio on Long Binh of an Army knock-off of a real song from the 60's...but I can't come up with the name or group... Maybe someone remembers and will let us know...

  • GREAT AUDIO! I remember those radio broadcasts well.

Where did you get the audio track? I recorded some music off of the Armed Forces Network with my portable cassette recorder in the hooch but my tapes degenerated (much like I have) after 3 and a half decades since Long Binh. Great footage too. Thanks

  • @tuutuutango I made a reel 2 reel back then. converted them to cassette in the 90's and digitized the mp3's a few years back. They make interesting background audio for the old 8mm movies. Olin

  • @bohdi316 Back then, they don't know how to clean their M16 because that's an automatic...

  • @Olinux

These are the lyrics I figured out:

Woke/ride up this side today, to make all the/our ****, but there are moments sad/said, **** ride/right away, nows your chance to travel, pick a place and school you want, but theres **** ****, with your record ****.

The star sections are where I couldn't understand the words at all.

  • Hey uploader! Great job on this!

I'm surprised how clear the audio turned out.

  • @bohdi316

    You're kidding? xD.

  • That's right, you are in the Nam and you need a radio show to tell you to learn how to clean your weapon. Little late .

  • Wow. I just ran across this. I was at Long Binh Dec., 1969 to Feb 1971. I was a personnel clerk in Head Quarters Company. Attached to 56th APU. Your video really brings back memories.
