I read this book and I felt the same way. Also, the washing in braids thing was hard because I felt like i was pulling more hair out trying to get it into braids. I was thinking abour reading the book again to see if I misinterpret anything.
You are detangling too hard. I have 4C hair and i finger detangle when my hair is stretched and the detangling is minimal ( i do not over detangle the hair) . Max 45 min to 1 hour it the hair has been in twists forever and is really tangled
why is your hair two different lengths like that? It looks Jacked up and a hot mess. You should of bought a book on how to style your hair.

@ocimak I read the book as well And tried the washing with braids and now I was my hair in twists, so mush easier and didn't take as long.
