I was taken to the cinema to see this film when I was six years old in 1953 and thought it was marvellous, due in no small measure by Miklos Rozsa's spectacular; haunting and romantic score. In fact, this was probably my first exposure to his music and it still sounds as good to me today as it did nearly fifty-eight years ago. I'm very pleased that Warner Archive have now released it on a re-mastered DVD that includes this trailer. I have ordered a copy from Movies Unlimited.
Tis' many's the man the fair flower denied,
And many's the heart broken besides,
For there was none finer nor gentler you see,
Than the fairest of all flowers the sweet Gene Tierney.
