Jet Boating the Current River

My family and I are taking our new boat out for its maiden voyage on the Current River in Van Buren, Missouri nestled in the heart of the ozarks. Our property (we call it Coleman's Landing) is located on the river right in the middle of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Our property is between Shote Hole and Bass Rock. We take off right in front of our river lot.

Our boat is a 50 HP Evinrude e-Tec outboard mounted onto an 18 foot 52 inches wide Blazer aluminum flat bottom boat.

@analyzingfunny Pretty funny comment - no trout in this part of the river. If I killed the trout, then I guess the game warden who has the exact same boat as me did too!

I was told only a 5hp was allowed on the current???

@lanceehansen Depends what zone you're in.... Most of the current from Van Buren up to Round Spring is 40 horse at the pump, so a 60 horse motor with a jet would be 40 horse and be legal. Below Big Spring, anything goes HP wise.
