Elton and Betty White on Venice Beach

I lived in Little Rock until last year, they were a local legend there. I'll never forget one night when they were on KABF, the song that got me was called "My Tongue Melts for You Baby..."

I moved to Little Rock after Betty White and Elton White left here for California, but they made a real impression on folks here. I have a very rare CD of 26 of their original songs, cannot be purchased anywhere. Betty was the valedictorian of her high school class in Mabelvale, Ark. According to her obituary, she married Elton in 1989 after she divorced her military husband... Imagine! I only wish I could have known them personally, but this video is great, real folk artist. There is a magazine called Oxford American that has a music issue out right now that includes a 6 page article about Elton & Betty - their lives and their music.  It's really a beautiful tribute and offers some insight into the interesting life they had together.

elton and betty white were both from little rock arkansas-elton would ride his bike and they would preform at a club called juanitas and others on amature night-they were quite the fixture here until they moved to san francisco-they appeared in some local editions of nightflyer a local music paper in little rock also...tooth
