Elton and Betty White on Venice Beach

Elton and Betty White were street performers along Venice beach, Ca when I shot this in 2000. Dont know where they are now but they were quite a hoot. Betty was 74 back then I believe, I bet she's someone's grandma! She sure does have some spunk for age and considering she came from a different erra. Betty is from Arkansas, not sure where she met Elton. If anyone has nay info on these two entertainers please post...

I moved to Little Rock after Betty White and Elton White left here for California, but they made a real impression on folks here. I have a very rare CD of 26 of their original songs, cannot be purchased anywhere. Betty was the valedictorian of her high school class in Mabelvale, Ark. According to her obituary, she married Elton in 1989 after she divorced her military husband... Imagine! I only wish I could have known them personally, but this video is great, real folk artist. Does anyone know how to find the video of the old hippie w/ the crow from venice beach? . it was filmed by the same folks i believe.. such an excellent vid.. would love to see it again

They have a Myspace page that someone else is running in their honor. They might have info on the copyright issues. I would LOVE a copy if possible, myself.

I lived in Little Rock until last year, they were a local legend there. I'll never forget one night when they were on KABF, the song that got me was called "My Tongue Melts for You Baby..."

I am not sure about copyright issues for their work. Betty has died, but had children; I have no idea if Elton is still alive or not. If anyone knows about this issue, I might consider posting MP3s if it would not transgress Betty's children or Elton.

Their music is "polished primitive". It is not sophisticated, but they obviously had practiced it a lot... and had a great delivery.Sort of like Grandma Moses' paintings.
