@deedundone people use because the metal in the transmission the locks the final drive unit in FWD car or the rear carrier in a RWD car to the transmission...that piece can break in over in time if the whole weight of car is held by the piece...put it in the park youll see how the car moves forward then stops suddenly thats when the transmission locks hold the weight

i rather place the brake show than the transmission..
