Why do I constantly hear some Christians today suggesting one of these two things? Either, they think street preaching is wrong, and that it will just scare people away from Christ, or they say; "I prefer to get to know a person first". Is this a cop-out to get out of evangelizing, and trying to appease the world, or is street preaching not 'meek' enough?

  • Amen to street preaching because alot of people would never be reached with the message of repentance from sin and turning to Jesus Christ as their only hope for salvation since these people do not attend local churches. Many churches are apostate meaning they've rejected many Biblical truths such as election, God's sovereignty, saving faith, and reading the Ten Commandments every Sunday. It's no wonder why most people are ignorant about what sin is and why God must punish sin.

  • @LAStreetPreacher Amen to that, brother. Amen. I too have experienced the nonsense by some churches that actually are opposed to street preaching. Sad.

  • I have a deep respect for street preachers. Not everyone can do this type of ministrsty. It is Biblical. A lot of people will not set foot inside of a church building so this could be the only way for them to come to Christ.

  • Exaclty my point.

  • @DaNorthernLight Amen. But being a calvinist (and I REALLY dislike being called that) makes me even MORE prompted to preach the Gospel. Why? Because I now know that it is ONLY by God's grace that those that hear the word and get saved would have done so only by God's election. Since we don't know who the elect are, we are even more obligated to preach the Gospel.

  • Great points! You've changed my mind. Like any other ministry, I DO think some are more gifted than others. If we are persecuted because of Christ, it is a blessing, but if we bring persecution because we are flat out acting the fool, then we reflect poorly on the Church. I've been thinking, how would I handle it if I got out there? I'm getting some good ideas. Thanks for making me think and giving me a new perspective.

  • To many people think the term "preacher or minister" is an actual position or office in the body of Christ (church)... This is NOT true or biblical...

These two terms: preacher and minister hold NO position in the body of Christ. They are man made. But, the act of preaching and ad-ministering the gospel of Christ is biblical and should be done by everyone! But, when going out to evangelize? There should always be an "Overseer, Pastor, Elder" present to guide and direct the flock...

  • Veki, (Just kidding)

It was great meeting you at the debate. Wish you guys were closer. If you are ever out this way again be sure to look us up!

Great video by the way - Preach in the streets!

  • I have the utmost respect for people can street preach! May God bless them...

  • I know what you're talking about...

  • Vekl, I praise God for your obedience and faithfulness to His word. We live in a time when the truth you proclaim is seldomly preached in our churches. As I make this statement I must emphasize that I agree with you concerning being careful not to tear down the body, but I make reference to the many churches Jesus described as Whitewash Sepulchers and the preachers he called "Blind Guides". Matt. 23. God Bless you beloved, and keep preaching truth.

  • Amen brother.
