So racial Identity huh? Interesting.. but then again im not the artsy type
-
she is using her situation as an example to not fear your true identity only because its not welcomed: people of color, gays, people with disorders, people in poverty making their way up, people overcoming addiction, etc.

i think shes kind of racist here. shes acting and basically saying that being african american is a problem. "what are you going to do about it" you shouldn't HAVE TO do anything about it. im not black but i would be a little irritated at her if i was. plus scientists have traced the first humans to have come from africa, so yes we are all black adrian. i respect her as an artist though

I'm white... Who gives a shit?

Thank you, Adrian.

@sadwonderland ....she is not completely "assuming," thats why she prefaces her major arguements by saying "if"....in sense she even has the right to assume because a lot interms of racism has changed over the past 30-40 years. When this video is played 30 years after its release we feel that she may assume too much about the viewer. But the thing is the targeted viewer has changed over the past decades...so in a sense your reaction is normal..but you need to think about context.

@sadwonderland she's not assuming a lot about the viewer, she's just going through a list of regular reactions to this video that a bunch of people may have. it's not meant to apply entirely to each person. not all of what she says will apply to you, but some of it may apply to others. a lot of it applied to my own thoughts about me being biracial. it may not be the same for others, but they may be hit hard by statements that didn't apply to me. it's meant to reach out to a bunch of people kay?

For someone accusing others of assuming, she's assuming a lot about the viewer herself.
