  • this is cool b/c i know john and i act with him

  • Gremillion steals this scene like candy from a baby.

  • Just curious how did the D'Oyly Carte sets designed by James Wade for Princess Ida end up in Texas.....? there must be a story there!

  • :) Simple. Our Star and Director, Alistair Donkin (formerly a D'OC patterman) has been affiliated with our company since '82. Through his connection, we had an opportunity to purchase that 1950's Ida set, and we did. It's an amazing thing to share the stage with that beautiful work of art. We're lucky to get to work with Donkin every year too.

  • Nothing can compare to The Lamplighters Ida. Sorry.

  • Is that one on YouTube (or elsewhere) I'd love to see it? As G&S companies go, the really good ones are pretty few and far between -- they're certainly one of the good ones.

  • I love these Houston clips. I want to come to see the show live! Sure wish I could. Please keep posting these great clips!!!

  • Utterly delightful! :o)

  • Yes I knew that set..... Brilliant... I saw the great John Reed.. as Gama.... keep the spirit of G&S going

  • Too bad they're all three in the same video. I would have liked to rate them separately. The first one delivers with utmost perfection. The next AND the next, with less and less perfection.

  • oh gremillion, you are crazy talented (or is it crazy and talented?)

    I miss you!

I hope that the set recovers!!

  • I saw the original D'Oly opera company touring with this set in Manchester england in the 1970s.I could not beleive my eyes when i saw this clip,it brought it all back to me,thanks for posting
