LUZ ANGELICA SCHUITT- ALASKA

Luz Angelica Schuitt's passion for child development and education began in high school, leading her to earn a B.A. in Speech Pathology, and a M.A. in Child Development. Upon finishing her studies, she opened her first child care and then later volunteered and worked in numerous pre-school and kindergarten classrooms. Her time and training at a Montessori school in Pennsylvania provided her with the foundation she needed to open her own home based pre school in Anchorage, Alaska. Luz Angelica's main goal is to prepare children for school. She has divided her home into four areas: life skills, mathematics, language, and culture. These core principles, along with a supportive home environment, give children the tools and freedom to explore and develop a sense of independence while encouraging creativity. Luz Angelica, a native of Colombia, infuses her child care with Spanish language and culture and offers workshops to other providers in the community.
